“The psychological thriller readers Facebook group has been so incredibly supportive of my career! I love getting to connect with such a passionate group of readers!”

“Joining the Psychological Thriller Readers group introduced my work to a whole new audience. Members first discovered my novel What Lies Between Us and began encouraging others in the group to read it.

However, things really took off when my book Keep It In The Family was released. Chapter 39—containing just a single F word—sparked huge interest. It was only meant to be a throwaway chapter, a bit of fun that amused me. But the group loved it. They ran with it, and the excitement quickly spread.

Up until that point, the book had been selling reasonably well—though perhaps not quite as strongly as some of my others. But once people started talking about Chapter 39, the momentum never stopped, and it hasn’t slowed since.

The book has now sold more than 800,000 copies worldwide, and I credit a huge part of that success to the Psychological Thriller Readers group. I love being part of it because they’re supportive, funny, and, much like me, potentially a little bit nuts”

John Marrs

“Writers are nothing without readers and being able to chat directly with book lovers is a joy. Word of mouth is also vitally important when it comes to selling books. The PTR group has helped me find many thousands of new readers all over the world.”

“The Psychological Thriller Readers group is, hands down, my favorite group online! Not only have they been hugely supportive of authors like me, they’re also where I get all my thriller book recommendations. The community they’ve built, the love they give indie authors, the in-person retreats, the inside jokes—there’s truly nowhere else like it on the internet.”

“STORY TIME!!

It was about 2 years ago, and I was getting some sun at my apartment complex’s pool. At this point, I’d released about 12 novels. I was able to pay my rent and bills, but that was about it. I was a borderline starving artist. I’d just recently joined this Psychological Thriller Readers Facebook page, not knowing it would change my life.

At the time, Jeneva Rose’s Home is Where the Bodies Are was a popular book on the page. The book cover looked like a VHS tape, so being the smart ass, I am, I made a comment like, “For a page devoted to books, you guys sure post a lot about a VHS tape.” Yeah, it was a cheesy joke, but you guys liked it. The post got a thousand likes and hundreds of comments, and I tried to respond to the majority of them.

People started asking about my books, and that day really did change my life. THIS PAGE changed my life! From that day on, I’ve spent countless hours interacting with all of you, and I’ve loved every minute of it. It’s now been two years, and while I still rent, it’s at a much nicer complex. Haha. And that’s thanks to this page and all of you!

Thanks for everything, and a special thank you to Chris Colmenero and Michael Swisher.”

“Superstar author John Marrs introduced me to the amazing Psychological Thriller Readers group. He’d discovered my novel, THE DROWNING WOMAN through the group and reached out to me. The book has reached so many people and the Psych Thriller Facebook Group has played a significant role in that! I’m now a member and love interacting as a writer and a reader. And being invited on a readers’ retreat to a Greek Island was a bonus I could never have imagined!”

Robyn Harding

“So many readers have discovered my books through Psychological Thriller Readers. Seeing people pick them up, share them, or recommend them to friends never gets old. I’m really grateful to the readers in the group, and to the group itself, for all the support!”

Caleb Stephens

“I want to take this moment to express my deepest gratitude to the Psychological Thriller Readers Facebook group. Being part of this amazing community—now over two million members strong—has been truly transformative for me and my career as an author.

This community is filled with passionate, thoughtful, and highly engaged readers who genuinely love the genre. Their support has not only helped my books reach a broader audience but has also fostered meaningful connections that extend well beyond. Thanks to the conversations, reviews, and shared enthusiasm here, my visibility and book sales have increased in ways I never imagined. This includes the Reading and Writing Retreats that this group so lovingly promotes and organizes. We can’t wait to welcome many more to Greece in the coming years.

To the administrators and moderators who keep this group thriving—thank you for creating such a lively and supportive community. It’s rare to find a space that combines genuine passion for psychological thrillers with kindness and encouragement for authors.

I’m endlessly grateful to everyone in Psychological Thriller Readers for believing in the power of storytelling and for helping authors like me bring our darkest twists and most gripping mysteries to life. You’ve made a lasting impact on my journey, and I’m proud to be part of this remarkable group.”

“Psychological Thriller Readers group has been a wonderful tool for my writing career. I am so very thankful for the support from the admin team and of course, the members. I have published seven books, but one book I would like to mention is called X MEMBERS OF THE FB GROUP – I wrote a satire/dark humor psychological thriller based on this group! Special thanks to John Marrs and Jonas Saul for writing an endorsement blurb for the cover of the book! It took me over a year to write it, so believe me when I say this is by far my favorite fb reading group. I also want to mention that every year I look forward to this group’s reading retreats, they are incredible!”

Chris Colmenero

“I am incredibly thankful for the Psychological Thriller Facebook group. Writing in English from Greece, I’ve seen my career reach new heights thanks to this community. My relationship with the admins has grown from professional to personal, leading us to co-host reading retreats here in Greece. It’s a massive feat to keep a group of 2 million members safe and supportive, and I’m honored to be a part of it.”

Rania Stone

“The group has definitely bolstered the career of trad published authors, but it has been an absolute launch pad for indie authors like myself. Wouldn’t be where I am today without it! Truth!!!”
